Outside the Studio: Charity Landscape Donation

So this actually goes back a few weeks, but a friend of mine's 3 year old daughter, Allyson Love Faithful, was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma Cancer. You can find more information on Allies for Ally. The main event to raise money for her was a golf tournament held in Williamsburg, VA at the Kisciack Golf Club. They raised a lot of money from the event and even held a raffle and a silent auction. I wanted to donate something so I went to Yorktown Beach, dug my toes and my french easel into the sand and did a landscape painting. So after the first day I left with a good compositional start and a pretty good sun burn (yeah I painted shirtless)! I went back to get a picture of my composition since the tournament was coming up soon and I couldn't make it back before the deadline.
A shot of one of the piers running out from the Yorktown beach.

I got my photo and finished the rest in the studio!

One of the many pages of gestures.

I will go ahead and add this image from the figure drawing class at The Art Department this week.

Horror movie recommendation: Bloody Reunion or the weird alternate title of "To Sir with Love".
